In the Realism menu choose Tyre Wear X7 (max), go to any course and put on Changeable Rainfall (make sure you get a sunny hot 30C+ day, though), put softs on, and then try racing around the track. Valencia is a good track for this, usually sunny there.

You should be wearing your tyres at a rate of 2% per lap or so.

By the 3rd or 4th lap it should be starting to get VERY challenging but in a sort of good way, almost approximating the real-life challenge I would imagine.

Your soft tyres will overheat after 3 laps so try the same thing again with mediums to have fun for longer.
